Hello summer! It's getting really hot really fast. I pulled out the fan a couple days ago because the evenings were unbearably hot, and then got a second fan because one wasn't enough. Anyways... This post is going to be an instructional DIY eyeliner post.
So I'm really cheap about things like this. I don't like to buy makeup unless it's absolutely nescesary or there's a good deal. Usually, I buy a bunch of make up at once when it's on sale so I haven't needed to restock my collection for a while. I recently ran out of eyeliner pencil (my pencil is a little stub that doesn't serve any purpose except being there) and instead of buying more, I decided to make my own.
Some blogs have people saying that you can use pencil crayon as an eyeliner... Don't listen to that. I'm cheap, but not that cheap. Pencil cryaons are non toxic, but that doesn't mean they won't irritate your eyes. A jalepeno pepper is safe to eat but if it goes near your eyes then you've got a burning, itchy problem. Steer clear of pencil crayon eyeliner. This DIY eyeliner is easy to make and to use.
DIY Liquid Eyeliner
You you need
*Activated Charcoal
*Coconut oil
*Essential Oils (Optional)
*Step 1
Take one to three capsules of activated charcoal and empty them into a small dish.
*Step 2
Heat up a teaspoon of coconut oil so it can easily be mixed in with the charcoal.
*Step 3
Mix in the coconut oil or petroleum jelly slowly. Don't put it all in at once because a little will go a long way. The eyeliner shouldn't be too thick and not too runny, so if yours looks like dirty water, then put in another capsule of charcoal. If you've got too much oil and your eyeliner is too thick, add a drop of water in.
*Step 4
If you would like to make your eyeliner scented (I did because I found that I could smell the charcoally smell in the dish of eyeliner and was worried I would smell like I had been camping) then put in a drop or two of essential oil.
This eyeliner is super easy, super cheap and it also isn't harmful for your skin. This has no chemicals that will irritate your skin or eyes and because you made it, you know exactly what's in it and that it wasn't tested on animals or made unethically.
